Due to a delay in the availability of the structural steel, it was decided to proceed with pouring the internal post tension slabs prior to the steel structure being erected in order to keep to the program. The post tension slabs were completed in ten pours. Each pour commenced at 11pm, due to their large size and because without a roof to shield the slab from the sun, pouring at night was required to protect the slab from going off too quickly.
The Somero SXP Laser Screed was used, due to the large size of each pour, which led to greater labour efficiency in concrete screeding and higher tolerances being achieved. It was then left to our experienced finishing crew to deliver slabs that were well above the client’s specification.
The combined results for the post tension slabs were FF 77.87 and FL 57.65. These results put the post tension slabs in the “Very Flat” Floor Profile Category.
